COMPANY MEMBERS

Molly Aaronson-Gelb is the Founder of Just Theater for whom she directed Take Me To The Bridge, Far Away and Three Plays About Your Mom. Other directing credits include the premiere of Blastosphere by Aaron Loeb and Geetha Reddy for CentralWorks, Aaron Loeb’s First Person Shooter at Capitol Stage in Sacramento and Oliver! for Berkeley Playhouse . She has also directed for Shotgun Players, Crowded Fire, the San Francisco Fringe Festival, and the Hangar Theater in Ithaca, NY. As an assistant director she has worked with Leigh Silverman, Tony Taccone and Lillian Groag at Berkeley Rep, ACT, and the Women's Project. She is a member of the Lincoln Center Director's Lab holds an MA in Performance Studies from Northwestern University.

Michael Barrett Austin is a Bay Area native who returned to San Francisco after earning a theatre degree from Whitman College and spending several years Kerouac-ing around the country, acting, writing and directing. In addition to playing roles in many thrilling Just Theater productions, Michael has worked with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, TheatreWorks, SF Playhouse, San Jose Stage, 42nd Street Moon, The Playwright's Foundation, California Conservatory Theatre, The Shawnee Playhouse, and others. He is a member of the sketch comedy troupe Funny But Mean, and maintains an alter ego as the Outreach Coordinator for the non-profit news site Antiwar.com.

sibani michael bose has been acting and stage managing in the Bay Area since she came here to obtain her degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to being a founding company member of Just Theater, she is a company member of the Shotgun Players in Berkeley.

Alexandra Creighton appeared with Just Theater in I Have Loved Strangers. Other Bay Area credits include Fat Pig at Aurora Theater, Vera Wilde (Best Actress Nomination, Bay Area Critics Circle) at Shotgun Players, Lovers & Executioners at Marin Theatre Company, Evil Dead: The Musical at the Willows Theatre Company, Proof with Shakespeare’s Associates, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby at California Shakespeare Theater, Heartbreak House (understudy) at Berkeley Rep, A Beautiful View, Boston Marriage and Missives at Theatre Rhinoceros, and various productions with Crowded Fire, Impact Theatre, and Funny But Mean: Cruel and Unusual sketch comedy.

Lindsey Gates appeared with Just Theater in Far Away, I Have Loved Strangers and
Curr
ent Nobody. Other Bay Area credits include Helena in A Midsummer Nights Dream at CalShakes & Two River Theater and Becky Shaw at B-Street Theater in Sacramento. Other regional credits include Strindberg's "The Pelican," and a children's production of "Peter Rabbit," both at the Hanger Theatre, and "The Kitchen Sink Play" and "OTMA" at the 2005 Lake George Theater Lab. In 2005 she founded the Lake George Theater Lab in Lake George, New York with her husband, Jesse McKinley. In New York, where she received a BFA from New York University, she appeared numerous productions and readings. Film and television roles include "Strangers with Candy," "Vamps," and "LA Firefighters" and a strange cameo in the Oscar-winning film "Lost in Translation." In 2004, she produced her most glowing creation: her son Jake.

Logan Granger designed sets with Just Theater Far Away, I Have Loved Strangers, and Current Nobody. He has also collaborated with Molly Aaronson-Gelb on the sets for Oliver! and Blastosphere. He works as a project designer for a Bay Area construction company, and received his Masters in Architecture from Harvard Design School in 2004. His undergraduate degree is in Fine Arts, and he continues to create and exhibit solo work. He enjoys the collaborative process of creation at Just Theater and as usual he is getting by with a little help from his friends.

Aaron Loeb's First Person Shooter which premiered at SF Playhouse, was named a Top Ten Show by the San Francisco Chroncile and the Oakland Tribune, and won the Bay Area Critic's Circle Award for Best New Play. His next play Abraham LIncoln's Big Gay Dance Party also premiered at SF Playhouse, and was then seen at the New York Fringe Festival. It will return to New York for a limited Off-Broadway run this summer.His short work has been performed around the country, including at LaMaMa E.T.C. His play Brown was directed by Molly Aaronson-Gelb and produced as part of Crowded Fire Theater Company’s Matchbox Workshop series. With Geetha Reddy, he co-wrote Blastospshere, which premiered at CentralWorks. Aaron has bachelor degrees in playwriting and dramatic literature from New York University, and is a four-time PlayGround Emerging Playwright Award winner and the recipient of the 2005 PlayGround Fellowship.

Dina Maccabee has designed music-scapes for Just Theater's Far Away, I Have Loved Strangers, Current Nobody, Take Me To The Bridge and 1001. She has also worked with Shotgun Players, Crowded Fire, and SF filmmaker Christian Bruno. She performs in the Bay and around the country with artists Vienna Teng, Ramon and Jessica, the Real Vocal String Quartet, and Gamelan-X.

 

Anthony Nemirovsky appeared in Just Theater's I Have Loved Strangers and the upcoming 1001. He recently appeared at Aurora Theatre Awake and Sing and The Devil’s Disciple. Other credits include The Jewbird and The Magic Barrel with Traveling Jewish Theatre, More Stories by Tobias Wolff with Word for Word, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby with California Shakespeare Theater and Picasso at the Lapin Agile and Laughter on the 23rd Floor with Center REP. Anthony is a proud member of Playground, Just Theater and the sketch comedy troupe Funny But Mean.

Maryanne Olson is a freelance dramaturg living in the Bay Area. Past dramaturgical work includes Current Nobody (Just Theatre), said Said (Marin Theater Company), A Streetcar Named Desire (Marin Theater Company), and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Hartford Stage). Past new play development work includes staged readings/workshops of Julia Jarcho’s American Treasure (BAPF), Marisela Trevino Orta’s American Triage (MTC), Kenn Rabin’s Found Objects (MTC), Jen Silverman’s Crane Story (BAPF), Erin Bregman’s Dora’s Rhapsody (Just Theatre), Sam Hunter’s I Am Montana (BAPF), and Sekou Sundiata’s The America Play (New WORLD Theater). She received her MFA in dramaturgy from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is a member of Berkely-based Just Theatre.

Linnaeus Bloom graduated from Bard College with a BA in theatre. He has worked regionally with Theatre de la Jeune Lune in Minneapolis, Arena Stage in Washington DC, and Zeitgeist Stage, a small fringe company, in Boston. His bay area credits include organizations such as Magic Theatre, Playwrights Foundation, Marin Theatre Company, Killing My Lobster and Theatre Rhinoceros. In his spare time, he can be found falling off the trapeze at the San Francisco Circus Center.

Jonathan Spector is the Artistic Director of Just Theater where his directing credits include Melissa James Gibson’s Current Nobody, Anne Washburn’s I Have Loved Strangers and the upcoming 1001 by Jason Grote. As a director and dramaturg he has developed many new plays with writers including Marcus Gardley, Sheila Callaghan, Sharyn Rothstein, Erin Bregman, Liz Lisle, Thomas Bradshaw, Rachel Axler, Julia Jarcho, Madeleine George, Madelyn Kent, and Peter Morris. With mugwumpin, he co-created and directed and i need that, this is all I need, which was workshopped at the FuryFactory and will have a full production July 2010. From 2006-2009 he was Associate Artistic Director of Playwrights Foundation. Prior to that he spent four years in New York, where he was a member of the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, The Lincoln Center Directors’ Lab, an SDC Observer, and a frequent collaborator with the Obie-winning company, The Civilians.
